Raka Biography Shiraz 2021

Raka Biography Shiraz is deep ruby garnet in colour with a spicy nose and flavours of black-pepper and dark berry fruit. There are chocolate-cherry notes of black forest cake on the palate with a red berry finish and elegant spice. Fine and grainy tannins on the aftertaste. Delicious with a braai (BBQ)!

Raka is the lifelong dream of Piet Dreyer, formally a fisherman who named his fishing boat 'Raka' after the half man, half beast creature that was as black as the night in the Afrikaans poem by N.P. van Wyk Louw. He wanted a black vessel so that he would not have to repaint it so often from the stains of squid ink and we love these very black bottles of fantastic SA red wines.
